After September 11th, 2001, Bush the Younger invoked the Continuity of Government provisions in a Presidential directive that is famous, and whose repercussions are still unclear. The exact details, despite requests from Congressional Oversight Committees, have never been clarified, even to them.
But then, why would your elected representative expect to be able to order the government to reveal such information? The point of Continuity of Government directives are specifically about usurping the powers of elected representatives in favour of a small skeleton crew who is able to operate efficiently, without oversight, in the 'best interests’™ of the nation. By bypassing the cumbersome shackles of democracy, they can streamline solutions (take the ‘Reaction’ out of ‘Problem-Reaction-Solution’)
This point needs to be hammered home, it’s the official ‘day release’ pass for that bone-of-contention, that most mythical of beasts: the Deep State. The real ‘movers and shakers’ in Washington that matter, the cogs who really get things done. The people who really control things; taking over, in an emergency, because “we need to fast-track decisions, to enable effective actions in real-time” (without the constraints of pesky things like laws, accountability and due process.)
And so it was: the original sin. By the time it was signed, the Presidents directive was already past it’s sell-by date. The smoke had cleared, the debris/evidence removed and planes were no longer dropping out of the sky. There were no imminent threats facing New York or Pennsylvania, but still, it was ‘emergency’ enough. Enough, its clear, for those in the halls of justice & truth and those in public information (for never the twain shall meet).
What the world saw next was like nothing that had been seen in history outside of the Bolshevik or Cultural Revolutions. At home, a slew of legislation (Patriot Act, National Defence Authority Act, etc) expanded the power of the government (whatever that means now) and the enforcement authorities at home; thus reducing those liberties the terrorists supposedly hated the people in the West so much for. The oxymoronic War on Terror was followed in short order by a rampage of real wars against real people making real money for a specific set of other people - Un-real.
Those of us who were adults then will remember the shock and dismay of those first days and the indignation of the immediate period afterwards. However, there was a point at which we could no longer believe the hype. The mission quickly lost its glean as the façade faded; the wars, the lack of WMDs, the civilian toll, the sexed Documents, the lies; in front of the UN, no less.
It is the subsequent surveillance state that has evolved from the original sleight-of-hand that must be regarded in context before we continue. We talked about 9/11 as the ‘day everything changed’ and nothing could be closer to the truth. The digital panopticon we live in today, hinted publicly before 2001 largely only in the movie ‘Enemy of the State’ was suddenly real, happening, and not only being justified but also ratified in law. We’re at War, you know, this is an Emergency, the law says so.
The decades since have seen an increasing array of evidence that those extra-congressional powers have been exceeded. Whistleblowers from almost every three letter agency have described deeper and darker infringements on what we used to think sacred. Recent accusations the CIA bribed it’s own scientists to conform cause a complete loss in faith that these agencies act in the pubic good:

Since the far off days of Bush the Younger, boy, has it been a roller coaster, or what? We had Obama, the first black President; then …. well, Trump and MAGA, and then again, well …. Biden and this whole woke business – how different can you get? Chalk and cheese, wouldn’t you agree?

Nothing has changed and despite the schism between the various overt factions who have held power on the surface, in the context of democracy™, there’s not a hair that can be placed between them. The two wings belong to the same bird.
The smoking-gun proof is here: because of its egregious and unconstitutional nature, the Bush Emergency directive has to be re-approved by the sitting US President annually. EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS DONE SO, yes, even HIM, EVERY YEAR.

If you search the White House’s own archives, you’ll find out this one thing is as reliable in Washington as death and taxes. The Actions name changes slightly on occasion and the timing this year is odd, because it precedes 9/11, usually it’s a couple of weeks after – vacations planned anyone? (What, even more vacations?) Hell or high water, you’ll find it there, every September since 2001, regardless of who as at the helm of the pirate ship in Washington.
It’s a long, long time since we last heard from Al Qaeda, or Bin Laden, a decade, even. We’ve heard naught from the IS Reboot of fundamental Islam since ... erm… COVID; so how is it still an ‘Emergency’? What is still going on in New York and Pennsylvania in respect to terror attacks that is still so urgent? If there’s a case for impeachment for trying to overthrow legal authority; here it is: Fraud, evidence of which is annually published on the White House website for all to see, ‘Click to Subscribe’.
The evidence is in the act. If there isn’t some witty legal maxim that covers this situation, then some bright spark needs resurrect a Roman to write one. The medusa the world faces today, that spawned from the original unholy act is logarithmically larger than the situation that created it. It has been precipitated by politicians of every stripe, even those that were supposed to deliver us from the evil of the conspiracy.
How and why? It’s plain to any child outside of elementary education that the emergency that called for the situation is now plainly dissolved, yet every year, each supposedly ideologically diverse puppet in the chair signs off, albeit not in secret, on this most hideous fallacy. The response from the narrative machine is so silent, one must ask if the explosion was so loud, we’ve all become deaf.
So we have a conspiracy, more than two people acting in concert. But do you really think this is a Skull’n’Bones style agreement, passing the Deep State baton in secret from President Bush to President Obama and then Trump and Biden with a nudge and wink and a funny handshake, in true Python-esque style? No, in fact it’s the best kept public secret in Washington and the Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex is now firmly predicated upon it. Joe Public is seemingly oblivious, while those that know own Wehrmacht shares.
Every day legions of reporters, analysts, robots and lobbyists scour the White House website for what is new. Everyone knows that not everything the White House does comes with the full 21-gun salute. It’s the smart Aleks that pick up the little gems from under the radar that can burst into wide-open IRL “News”. It’s the early bird that catches the worm and the guys who can read between the lines that get the Pulitzers.
So how come no-one has put two and two together in 22 years?
You tell me.
There is no good reason, the story is suppressed, even though it’s in plain sight. I’ve been watching the last couple of years, waiting for the Islamic problem to finally die its death from the public conscience, leaving absolutely no excuse for renewing the Actions. This shows that the conspiracy is in effect; the age old adage goes - how on earth could so many people keep it secret? It isn’t secret, everybody is just blowing smoke up each other’s back-sides. None of it matters to the skeleton crew; that is just the song-and-dance for the cheap seats – the one you are sitting in.
They didn’t keep it secret, because they know about marketing and public relations; you just… don’t advertise. In today’s over-informed world, most will overlook the wood as they gaze at the forest. If your narrative is good enough, nobody looks for the strings operating the puppets. Nobody really follows the money if they buy the story, or if they are selling it.
